ACPE-accredited and BPTS-recognized.

NPTA’s Pharmacy Technician Immunization Administration Training Program has been developed to meet the training program requirements established by the HHS guidance under the PREP Act. The program is ACPE-accredited for 8 contact hours, including hands-on training (10 hr for Massachusetts).

  • Affordable.

NPTA believes that pharmacy technicians should earn more - not pay more...which is why we offer the most affordable options for advanced CPhT training programs.

  • Accredited.

This program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) for 7 contact hours.

  • Recognized.

NPTA has long been the recognized industry leader in advanced training programs and specialty certifications for pharmacy technicians. Since 1999, we have provided advanced training programs and specialty certifications to over 24,000 CPhTs.

  • Accessible.

NPTA training programs are available to all CPhTs (NHA or PTCB) and are available as online, on-demand courses, with options for students to complete their hands-on training either at work or virtually with our in-house instructors.

  • Convenient.

Technicians enrolled in the program are required to complete 7 hours of coursework, including online self-study + hands-on training, including skill validations. You can be trained and prepared to begin administering vaccines within days.

  • Scalable.

How This Course Works

Participants must complete six separate online learning modules (totaling five hours), each comprised of a recorded webinar and a module quiz. A score of 70% or higher is required for each quiz. After completing the self-study modules, participants must complete documented hands-on training and complete skill validations demonstrating proficiency.

Options for Hands-On Training + Validations

Option 1: At your workplace (RECOMMENDED)
Work with a pharmacist certified to give Point of Care Testing? If so, you can have your pharmacist validate your training hours and skill validations on-the-job. We will provide you with all the necessary forms and the instructions for your pharmacist/proctor. For your skill validations, you will be required to administer two injections (of sterile NaCl 0.9%) to your pharmacist/proctor. Training products are not included. They can either be supplied by your pharmacy or you can order a training kit separately.

Option 2: At home
Due to COVID-19, we are temporarily offering an option for students to complete their hands-on training and skill validations at home - using a blend of instructional videos, group video-conference calls with our instructors and one-on-one video-conferencing for skill validations. For your skill validations, you will be required to administer two injections (of sterile NaCl 0.9%) to a friend or family member. Training products are not included. They can either be supplied by your pharmacy or you can order a training kit separately.
